  24. Well, there is no "DTMF surcharge" here, and there has never been.
  25. That explains why the PTT could silently move everyone to a system that
  26. allows DTMF.  (once your local switch was upgraded you received a
  27. letter that explained that you could now set your telephone to DTMF if
  28. it was capable of it, and that some extra service only available via
  29. DTMF * could then be used)
